Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern all orders placed through the Elwood Bakery & Cafe website (“the Website”). By placing an order you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before completing your purchase.

1. About Us

Elwood Bakery & Cafe is a small-batch artisan bakery located at 162 Tennyson Street, Elwood VIC 3184. We specialise in handcrafted cakes and catering platters made fresh to order.

2. Placing an Order

All orders are placed through our Website and are subject to acceptance by us. We reserve the right to decline any order at our discretion — for example, if we are unable to accommodate the requested pickup date. You will receive an order confirmation email once your order is accepted and payment is processed.

3. Pricing and GST

All prices displayed on the Website are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of 10% GST. Prices are subject to change without notice; however, the price at the time of placing your order is the price you will be charged.

4. Payment

We accept payment by credit/debit card via Stripe (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay). We also offer Pay at Pickup (full payment due at the time of collection).

For online card payments, a 50% deposit is charged at the time of order. The remaining balance is due at pickup. Your card details are processed securely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.

5. Lead Times

All our products are made fresh to order. Minimum lead times are:

• Cakes: 48 hours minimum notice before your chosen pickup time
• Catering platters: 5 business days minimum notice

Orders placed without sufficient notice will not be accepted. We strongly recommend ordering as early as possible, especially for weekends and public holidays.

6. Pickup Only

All orders are available for pickup only from our store at 162 Tennyson Street, Elwood VIC 3184. We do not offer delivery at this time. Please ensure you can collect your order at the nominated pickup date and time before placing your order.

7. Cancellations and Changes

• Cancellations requested more than 48 hours before your pickup date: full refund of any deposit paid.
• Cancellations requested less than 48 hours before pickup: deposit is non-refundable as ingredients and labour costs will have been incurred.
• Order changes (e.g. size, date) are subject to availability — contact us as early as possible.
• Custom decorated cakes are non-refundable once baking has commenced.

8. Allergen Disclaimer

Our kitchen handles gluten, dairy, eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, and sesame. While we take reasonable precautions, we cannot guarantee that any product is completely free from traces of these allergens due to shared equipment and kitchen environment. Our Gluten Friendly products use gluten-free ingredients but are made in a shared kitchen and are not suitable for people with Coeliac disease. Please review our Allergen Information page and contact us before ordering if you have a severe allergy.

9. Quality Guarantee

We take great pride in our products. If you are not satisfied with the quality of your order, please contact us within 24 hours of pickup with a description and photo of the issue. We will assess the situation and, where appropriate, offer a replacement or refund at our discretion.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The current version is always available on this page.
